Urban B was started in 2018 by two sisters who have a passion for interior design.
The business started with our Hive wall planter but has since grown to include more contemporary home décor. Our inspiration for the Hive was based on our love of having air purifying plants in the home combined with the desire to have something a bit different from the usual artwork you find on walls.
Living in vastly different houses in different parts of the country, we understand that wall space varies from home to home, so were particularly keen on designing something versatile. The beauty of this product is that you can pick and change the layout, whether you want to keep a few herbs in your kitchen or create your very own statement ‘living wall’. The design is also practical as you can remove the planters to change your design and for ease of watering.
The business has continued to evolve, and we now create more contemporary items such as bespoke concrete furniture, unique concrete plant pots, tea light holders, soap dishes, coasters and trays in a range of distinctive on trend colours.
We are passionate about creating quality and sustainable products and supporting our fellow small businesses, here in the UK. Our wall planter design is hand fabricated by a UK manufacturer and our concrete creations are handmade on site in Shropshire. We use a variety of moulding methods, including rubber, fibreglass and wood. As we mix all the colours ourselves, no two items are the same and we have found our customers love our products being ‘one of a kind’.
We have our own in-house designer who has a flare for contemporary design, specialising in polished concrete. We only use high performance, glass reinforced concrete to create sleek designs that will stand the test of time. Our network of local craftsmen allows us to create truly unique pieces of furniture that incorporate wooden rivers and steel. We offer free design and quotation services and work closely with our customers to bring their ideas to life.
In the near future, we are opening a collaborative retail space in the bustling market town of Oswestry, North Shropshire. We are very excited to be joining this close knit community. Our shop celebrates our ethos and we will showcase another 20 local small businesses, all making quality handmade unique products, alongside our own designs.
